First night in the new house!
Sundays travels were tough, Briar wanted to nurse every hour so after 45 min stretches of sleep she would wake up protest the carseat and we would stop. Needless to say we left indy at 10 am and didn’t arrive to the hotel in beckley until 8pm. (380miles roughly lol) Had dinner at outback and then I slept like a baby in the fanciest hotel I have ever been in! Literally it was amazing! Sunday Briar slept the ENTIRE drive. We stopped and I woke her up to nurse. Then continued on and made it in town 3 hours earlier than expected. Only to end up at a complete shit hole hotel! It was horrible and my husband told me to just go ahead to another hotel but I felt guilty leaving my parents there. Really
It was my mom that was the reason we didn’t leave. She said my dad wouldn’t leave but really she didn’t want to lose out of the money they spent on the hotel. She is so neurotic. All she did was point out all the problems and then make it feel even nastier and then refuse to leave. My dad was shocked I didn’t ask to leave and he felt bad the hotel was so yucky. That hotel was more of a motel and in fact thats where my nightmares go to have nightmares!
We got everything moved in yesterday! Thanks to my parents, grandparents and hubby for hiring movers! Best $250 we ever spent! They did all the heavy lifting etc! My grandparents got my entire kitchen unpacked and put away! My dad got my room set up and stuff!
I slept so comfortable in my bed! We didn’t get a chance to wash the blankets we packed back in august so when I pulled them out of the boxes it smelled like Zack. Home 🙊❤️ lol. We didn’t get to wash them because the dryer hookup needs a 3 prong instead of 4 prong cord. So anyway it felt like home in my bed. Both the girls slept well too. So thankful my Briar sleeps like a champion. She is usually wide awake all day and if I don’t hold her she is a fussy little bitty so I am hoping we get the majority unpacked this week while my parents are here. My grandparents left this morning for their mini vacation. They picked helping us move to VA vs their annual trip to FL, can you say Blessed? Seriously my family is the best I couldn’t be more thankful/appreciative!
So todays agenda is unpacking more but the house already feels like home and we are set up about %80! I need to figure out what internet/cable to get. I also need to plan a huge sams/costco restock.
This week is so awesome! :) bonus for me is finally using/unpacking my Christmas gifts! Feels like christmas all over again lol! My Aria scale and all my le creuset! I haven’t cooked in it yet, possibly saving for when Zack gets home 😃
We made it to Virginia!
Last nights hotel was bliss… Tonights is like a cold hard slap in the face.
Thank god for clorox wipes and lysol spray or I would have already crawled out of my skin.
We move in tomorrow morning! So excited!
Today was crazy busy.
I spent the first half of the day at the mechanics. I am really going to have to pay it forward after the amazingness that happened at the shop today. Went in for an oil change and possible alignment before our trip. Ended up definitely needing the alignment and to my surprise tire rotation because the previous repairs I had in Jan did mess up the alignment and it was messing up my tires. Glad we got it fixed quickly. Also discovered the windshield fluid leak wasn’t just a “frozen line” as everyone kept telling me all winter and I kept adding more fluid (3bottles worth) and it kept disappearing! I knew something was leaking but everyone insisted not. Anyway it was, big time. My bill probably should have been around $200 but the mechanic didn’t charge me for the alignment, he only charged me for the tire rotation and oil change and I walked out with a $60 bill instead. He also fixed the leak which just happened to be a tube or plug undone or something. The girl at the front desk held Briar for a minute while I stepped out to look at the tires. Then she took $20 off my bill! Literally amazed by people’s awesomeness today!I love random acts of kindness!
So then I grabbed Starbucks for everyone at home and came home to pack. Except Briar had other plans. So she literally nursed all day. Had an insane belly ache I am assuming. My grandparents came to load up their van of stuff for me.
My step sister came to spend the afternoon with us, which was nice… But it also slowed the packing way down. So needless to say, still not packed and we are supposed to leave no later than 10 am tomorrow. It was fun to see my niece finally blossoming. She’s a little behind on milestones but thankfully she is getting physical therapy and her little personality is finally coming out, it’s precious. She loves to scream & squeal. I love it. I will miss her so much.
Briar just fell asleep an hour ago and I got %90 of my room packed and just say down with some apples and peanut butter.
I probably won’t sleep a wink tonight. Travel jitters.
I am so excited! A little nervous and anxious.
It literally feels like the past month didn’t even happen. Like I just woke up and BAM!
That was fast.
I need to get my shit together. Literally!
I hardly have anything packed!
Yesterdays toy sorting was uhm, slow…. Today I need to sort our laundry and decide what we are taking in bags vs boxes.
Today I need to get my ass in gear!
Someone take me to Coachella!
