I’m sad to see summer go, it’s been fun. I love summer. Arleigh, Briar, Zack and I had another great summer full of adventures but with Fall starts the fun family traditions and with new command more family time!
It was nice today! Almost felt like fall even! I hope the weather stays this way but with it being Virginia I know it can be warm a few more weeks even!
We are so excited for the next few weeks to unfold!!! So much excitement for our family!
Briar had her 6 month checkup last week! She weighs 18.8 lbs (I can’t remember %) and was 25 in (21%) She is finally dropping in the height % which is cute! Guess she might end up short like mama after all! You just never know! I was supposed to be tall according to growth charts but I topped off at 5’3” haha. She’s healthy as can be! She has hit all her milestones + some! Checked off almost all the milestones on the 9 month checklist!
Briar is a wild child! She’s been crawling for about a month now but she’s finally mastered it. She’s also been pulling up on furniture and anything else in sight for a couple weeks! So I’ve been a busy mama chasing this little lady around! I’m still breastfeeding and we’ve been adding in solids slowly. We have noticed a bit of constipation so we are holding off on certain foods for a while. She’s also recently started to wake up more at night, teeth!
Arleigh started her homeschool. So far she is loving it! I had planned on following 3 days a week Montessori style and then talking field trips the other 2 days a week with our memberships around town to either the AQ, Zoo, petting farm, children’s museum etc. I realized, It’s really no different than the setup we had the last two years. They did close down the art class And play group I used to take her to 2x a week for the past two years but we are finding other activities. There are a lot at the local park as well as library toddler activities that she enjoys. So far Arleighs favorite thing we have been learning is handwriting! She is a pro! She’s also learning to tell time :) I planned on doing her class 3 days a week MWF but instead we woke up every morning she asked to practice her handwriting and work/check her science experiments. I’ve also been letting her help in the kitchen a lot more recently, the past few weeks she has made breakfast! She loves to help stir eggs to make scrambled eggs! She is getting better at cracking, mixing and helping pour them into the pan. Her other favorite is pancakes! It’s such a great feeling watching this precious baby grow into her own person. Sometimes I hold her and want to cry because she has gotten so big! At the same time… She is so brilliant, LOVE watching her grow, learn and flourish! Our conversations are the best and I try to keep up with her blog I made her with little entries here and there! I don’t want to ever forget the sweet things she does and says.
I got an email that my jogging stroller is going to be shipped sooner than originally stated! It said 3-6 weeks but it’s supposed to get here this week! Yayy!! So excited! I’m really looking forward to getting back into a routine with running! I won’t be cleared for exercise until NOV still and that was reconfirmed at my last appointment a couple weeks ago, but I am counting down the days! I’m looking at new shoes and a new pedometer soon too! :) we also really need to have a garage sale to purge some of the things we’ve been de-cluttering to make space in our garage gym now that it’s cooling off we will be spending more and more time out there! Really happy the mosquitos won’t be after us for long too! I have plans to meet up with a few ladies soon which hopefully will become a regular thing!
Hope everyone in tumblr world is great!
I was supposed to run errands this morning but the rain was so calming the girls and I laid in bed cuddling and sleeping in this morning!
I think instead of errands I will just take the crock pot out and turn some movies on for the girls and I to cuddle up and enjoy the break in super hot weather!
I’m finally starting to get excited for fall! We have two very hilarious ideas for halloween and have to decide between which costumes we want to get the girls. I wanted to make their costumes like I had done for Arleigh before but I think I ran out if time due to refusing to accept that summer is over. Like…holy crap it’s september!
I already ordered a bunch of fall clothes for the girls and I for vacation since it will be much cooler up north. I can’t wait for their fall clothes to get here! I’m completely addicted to Etsy lately!
I also have plans to meet up with a girl here for crafting! Her baby is exactly a month younger than Briar so hopefully that will be a new friend for all of us! So we are planning on getting together soon and she is really good at sewing!
